kochi,the queen of the Arabian sea is very close to becoming a metro. it has malls coming up, infrastructural facilities on the rise, prospective projects and the developments are quite visible. but still kochi has not even come in the prospective list of becoming a metro.
and why is that?its because of the lack of night life, poor waste management and the atrocious condition of the roads. thanks to our mayor Ms. Mercy Williams. she seems to be determined to complete her term in office. this will power is very good for a person in power provided they fulfill their duties and responsibilities. what has our Mayor done?all she does is, when people come to attact her,she very smartly goes into hiding. if she could use this problem solving ability alone for the present waste management....
the waste is piling up everywhere. all the bins are removed. and the public is fined for dumping waste.then where do we dispose our waste?its such a pity!
today, the new indian express had posed a question, 'should the mayor quit?'through this blog of mine, let me extend my warm support for the brave intiative. i fully support you. THE MAYOR SHOULD QUIT. this would do good to our city. i am sure. show this mercy to us atleast.

lols..but kochi will not be in the list of metro...because...
1) NightLife : This doesnt match to the culture in kerala..
2) MultiPlux's : The speed it comes up the more speed we have politicians around it saying this is not going to happen...
3) Big Brands : Big Brands wouldn't put there money untill and unless they figure out how to reduce the number of hartals and strikes and non working days in Kerala
:) I think if these many conditions satisfy...I am sure kochi will be the first among metro list :)

you are right about lack of night life.there are other factors too- like the bad roads n yet another one is the waste problem
u are right about roads and wastes..but one thing about that is ..like it is directly proportional..that means..
if big brands or multiplex's or pubs come up ..that requires better roads..then they will make sure they get it done..
i have seen that in hyderbad..hyderbad started of as a IT hub without any better roads it was full of gutters..but now since these many companies and shops and big brands came the need for road was more imp ..:)...likewise it got improved..
